Helsinki’s New Year is celebrated at Kansalaistori on New Year’s eve December 31st 2025

Helsinki will once again celebrate the New Year together at Kansalaistori Square on December 31, 2025!

The evening will kick off with a New Year’s celebration for the whole family and a concert by Hevisaurus from 5 to 6 p.m.

Later in the evening, from 10:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., the year will come to a close in the company of star artists, with performances by Ares, Erika Vikman, and KAJ. The event can be watched live on Nelonen and Ruutu from 10:30 p.m.

It is recommended to arrive at the event area via Mannerheimintie, and for those arriving by metro, the most convenient exit stop is Kamppi. We recommend arriving at the event in good time and taking note of the exceptional traffic arrangements in the vicinity of Kansalaistori from 4:30 p.m. onwards.

The passage through Sanomatalo will be closed at 5 p.m. and Eero Erkon katu between Sanomatalo and Oodi at approximately 7:15 p.m.

In addition to Kansalaistori, the midnight fireworks show can be viewed from Mannerheimintie and the Töölönlahti event park. Bringing your own fireworks to the event area is strictly prohibited.
